Infrastructure Accidents Impact on Jokowi’s Electability

The government must ensure no more construction accidents to maintain the credibility of infrastructure projects as the main development program of Jokowi’s government.

Infrastructure project accidents have been claiming lives, with the hasty pursuit of completion targets before the end of President Joko Widodo’s term of office in 2019 being blamed. The government should ensure no more accidents to maintain the credibility of infrastructure projects as the main development program under President Joko’s leadership.

There were two infrastructure project accidents this week - on Sunday (4/2), a crane at the construction site of the Double-Double Track project in Matraman, East Jakarta, collapsed and killed four workers.
