Jokowi Asks for Mitigation Plan to Face Global Market Turmoil

President Joko Widodo has instructed ministries and state agencies to prepare mitigation measures to deal with global market uncertainty. The goal is to reduce larger adverse impacts during the ongoing uncertainty.

In a meeting at the Presidential Office, Jakarta, Tuesday (15/5), the president said the mitigation measures are needed to anticipate the volatility of the global financial architecture, which was triggered by US monetary policy. “It is causing depreciation of currencies in the world, not to mention the Indonesian currency,” he said.
